Canva Sync — Automatic, Instant, No Setup Required
Canva uses a cloud-first architecture — every design, upload and setting lives in your Canva account on Canva's servers, not on your device. This means sync is not a feature you turn on — it is how Canva works by default.
Every time you make a change to a design (move an element, type a word, change a color), Canva saves it to the cloud within milliseconds. Any other device logged into the same account reflects that change the next time it loads that design.
Real-time auto-save
Every edit is saved to the cloud automatically — there is no Save button and no risk of losing work from an accidental close.
Unlimited devices
No device limit on any plan. Use Canva on every Windows PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone and Android simultaneously with the same account.
Offline cache
Recently opened designs are cached locally on desktop and mobile for offline access. Changes sync when you reconnect.
Real-time collaboration
Multiple users can edit the same design simultaneously. Changes from each collaborator appear live for all others.
How to Sync Canva Across All Your Devices
Since sync is automatic, the only setup required is installing Canva and signing in with the same account everywhere. Here is the process for each platform:
🪟 Windows & 🍎 Mac
Download and install the Canva desktop app
Download from canva.com/download/windows (Windows) or canva.com/download/mac (Mac). Install and launch — takes about 60 seconds.
Sign in with the same account as your other devices
Use the exact same email, Google account or Apple ID you use on your other devices. This is the only requirement for sync — the account links all your devices together.
All designs appear instantly
After signing in, your entire design library, uploads, Brand Kit and folders are immediately available. Any design you edit on this device appears updated on your other devices when they next load it.
📱 Android & iPhone
Install Canva from Google Play or App Store
Search for "Canva" → tap Install (Android) or Get (iPhone). The app is free and takes about 2 minutes to download and install.
Log in with the same account
Tap Log in (not Sign up) → use the same Google, Apple or email account as your desktop. All designs sync immediately after login.
Enable background refresh for faster sync
iPhone: Settings → Canva → toggle on Background App Refresh. This allows Canva to sync changes even when the app is closed. Android: Settings → Apps → Canva → Battery → set to Unrestricted.
Accessing Canva Designs Offline
The Canva desktop app automatically caches recently opened designs. Here is exactly what works offline and what requires internet:
| Action | Desktop App | Browser | Mobile App |

Canva Not Syncing Between Devices — Fixes
Confirm you are using the same account on all devices
Go to the Canva menu on each device → click your profile icon (top right) → note the email address shown. If devices show different emails, you have multiple Canva accounts. Log out of the wrong account and log in with the correct one.
Check internet connection on all devices
Sync requires an active internet connection on the device that made the change and the device receiving the change. A design edited offline will only appear on other devices after the editing device reconnects and uploads the changes.
Force refresh — close and reopen the design
If a change you made on one device is not appearing on another, close the design on the second device and reopen it. Canva fetches the latest version from the server on each open.
Sign out and sign back in
On the device with sync issues: click your avatar → Log out → log back in. This refreshes your authentication token and clears any session-level sync issues.
Check Canva system status
Canva occasionally has brief sync delays during server maintenance. Check canva.com/status for live service status. If sync is down site-wide, wait 15–30 minutes and it will resolve automatically.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Canva sync automatically between devices?
Yes. Canva syncs all designs, uploads and settings automatically in real time when you are connected to the internet. There is no manual sync button — changes are saved and pushed to all devices within seconds. Simply log in with the same account on every device.
Why is Canva not syncing between devices?
The most common causes: you are logged into different accounts on different devices, one device has no internet connection, or there is a temporary Canva server delay. Fix: confirm you are signed into the same email on all devices, check internet connection, and refresh the page or relaunch the app.
Can I access Canva designs offline?
Yes, partially. The Canva desktop app (Windows and Mac) caches recently opened designs locally so you can view and edit them offline. Changes are synced to the cloud when your connection returns. New designs and template browsing always require internet. The mobile app also caches recently accessed designs.
How many devices can I use Canva on simultaneously?
Canva has no device limit. You can install and use Canva on unlimited Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices with the same account. Canva syncs across all of them simultaneously. There is no additional charge for multiple devices on any plan.
How do I share a design between Canva accounts?
Open the design → Share → Copy link → choose "Can edit" or "Can view" → send the link to the other account. Alternatively, use Share → Invite people → enter their email address to add them as a collaborator directly. Canva Teams plan includes additional sharing and folder access controls.
